End COVID Monopolies

MARCH 11 GLOBAL DAY OF ACTION

March 11 marked the beginning of the third year since the World Health Organization formally declared COVID-19 a global pandemic.

As we enter the third year of the COVID-19 pandemic, billions of people worldwide still don’t have access to COVID vaccines and treatments. Meanwhile, pharmaceutical companies are recording profits of over $1 million per hour and world leaders refuse to stand up to them.

This greed and cowardice are causing thousands of avoidable deaths each day and are responsible for Omicron, Delta and and other variants that are extending the pandemic.

Hundreds of people around the world joined us to demand world leaders stand with people, not Big Pharma, and finally end this pandemic. We must #EndCOVIDMonopolies

GLOBAL actions

Activists gathered in 16 countries spanning four continents to demand that leaders stop the next COVID variant and finally end the pandemic by waiving intellectual property rights, sharing vaccine formulas, and funding global production of vaccines, tests and treatments to prevent the next COVID variant and end these constant disruptions in our lives.

Events were held in France, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Nepal, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Spain, Tanzania, Uganda, UK and 11 locations across the US including Austin, Boston, Dallas, Detroit, El Paso, NYC, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington DC Virtual events also took place in Sierra Leone, Japan, Zambia, the USA, Spain, Kenya, and the UK as well as region-wide webinars in Asia and Latin America.

END COVID MONOPOLIES: CALL OUT BIONTECH

BioNTech is holding its Annual Shareholder Meeting on 1st June. Make sure your voice is heard at it.

The BioNTech-Pfizer vaccine for COVID-19 is one of the most lucrative in history, but its benefits haven’t been evenly distributed. In 2021, BioNTech made more that €10 billion in profits but only 1% of their vaccines were delivered to low income countries. If you agree that this is immoral, join us in asking BioNTech to share the technology and finally stand for free and fair vaccine access for all.
